The Integrated Product and Process Design (IPPD) Program features dedicated facilities that support senior engineering students in collaborative, hands-on design experiences. These include a state-of-the-art prototyping lab and three professional conference rooms designed for team collaboration, sponsor meetings, and virtual communication.
IPPD Prototyping Lab
The IPPD Prototyping Lab underwent a complete renovation and reopened in 2024. The 2,000-square-foot facility is dedicated to the program’s senior engineering design experience, providing students with a collaborative space to meet, design, prototype, and build their projects.
The lab includes a high-end 3D printer, a fully equipped electronics assembly and testing bench, and a dedicated tool room with a manual mill, CNC mill, drill press, vertical band saw, grinder, and a variety of power and hand tools. Five large wall-mounted displays allow students to connect wirelessly from any device, making it easy to collaborate on designs, conduct team meetings, and participate in sponsor videoconferences.
IPPD Conference Rooms
Located on the renovated fourth floor of Reed Lab, the IPPD Program includes three professional conference rooms dedicated to collaboration between student design teams and their industry sponsors. Each room seats up to 10 people and is equipped with professional videoconferencing technology for both in-person and virtual meetings.
Students can reserve the conference rooms 24/7 for team meetings, sponsor presentations, and project discussions.
