The AI Fundamentals and Applications Certificate is open to students from all majors—technical and non-technical—and provides foundational knowledge in artificial intelligence, its real-world uses, and the ethical responsibilities that accompany these technologies. Students will engage with high-level AI tools and apply them to problems within their own disciplines.
Important:
- You must apply for the certificate through the UF Admissions portal
- (Use one of the application buttons at the bottom of the page.)
- You must apply before taking your second course in the certificate.
- To earn the certificate, you must also apply to graduate with it.
Curriculum
The certificate consists of three courses:
- AI fundamentals course
- AI ethics course
- Discipline-specific application course
Course options and requirements are listed in the UF Catalog.
Note:
Students may take the application course offered by any college. Be sure to review prerequisites before registering.
